I want to make sure that Boulder County continues to be a very special place—one that respects the environment, wisely manages growth, helps people who are in need, and has a progressive, open government. WillThat is why I have decided to run for Commissioner—and I am asking for your support.

When I moved here twenty-four years ago I immediately fell in love with this area. Boulder County has benefited from a series of wise public decisions which have maintained our quality of life, protected our environment, and responded to the needs of our people. Because of these choices, Boulder County is unique, unlike any other county on the Front Range. Ever since I arrived here, I have worked in a variety of ways—from driving a truck at Ecocycle in the 1980s to serving Boulder Mayor to my role today as county Commissioner—supporting and fostering the qualities that make Boulder County special.

Yet, Boulder County faces many challenges. If re-elected, I will build on the successes of the past while bringing fresh ideas to help us meet the challenges of today. I will always work to build bridges with citizens and local governments, developing strong cooperative relationships and solutions that benefit all of us. I will listen to the concerns that are voiced from across the county—from the mountains and the plains, the big cities and the small.
